ndustrial Ethernet is gaining momentum with a growth rate of 10 per cent, accounting for 68 per cent of newly installed nodes in factory automation globally (compared to 66 per cent last year.) There is strong competition between PROFINET and EtherNet/IP, each tied for first place at 18 per cent, while EtherCAT continues to climb, holding on to third place with 12 per cent.
